We have been pretty busy this P-day. We had a lesson with our investigator Lewis this morning and we played football with the other missionaries in the zone. We went through the baptismal interview questions and we feel that he's ready to baptised soon! He needs to keep away from the coffee and he plans to drink hot chocolate instead. He wants Elder Dias to baptise him (he's a very tall guy, so we're going to do some practise)!
We had a great zone conference last week. President Stevens taught us about the importance of the sacrament. We studied the talk "This Do in Remembrance of Me" by Elder Holland to prepare for the conference. I highlighted this section - "How “sacred” and how “holy” is it? Do we see it as our passover, remembrance of our safety and deliverance and redemption?" It made me ponder about the way I partake of the sacrament and the way I want to teach the sacrament to our investigators. The passover is when the children of Israel put the blood of a lamb without blemish on their doors. This was done so that the last plague which was the destroying angel would pass over them and not take the life of the first born in each family. This passover was in similtude of the great sacrifice the Savior would make for all of mankind. He was the "lamb" without blemish prepared from the foundation of the world. President Stevens showed us the bible video of the Savior instituting the sacrament in rememberance of him. It showed when he was buried with the white cloth and then showed the sacrament table with the white cloth. We should consider the symbolism of the sacrament and the words used to bless the sacrament in order to lead our thoughts unto Christ. I'm very thankful for being able to partake of this holy ordinance each week and that we are able to renew our baptismal covenants with the Lord. I know this is necessary for repentance. When I have approached the sacrament with a broken heart and a contrite spirit I have felt the Holy Ghost give me the joy and a greater desire to follow Christ!
The zone leaders and sister training leaders gave trainings on member missionary work. Our zone leaders played this video - https://www.lds.org/training/wwlt/2013/hastening/priesthood-leaders?lang=eng#media=32311188399189006900-eng. Check out the video, because I was really surprised to see who was talking!
